This Privacy Policy explains how American Global Nexus LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the NuSee mobile application (the “App”). NuSee helps you scan grocery products to see health scores, prices, and healthier alternatives.
1. Summary
- Camera frames are analyzed in memory and never stored. Photos of products, labels, and receipts are processed to produce a result and are not saved on our servers.
- We collect your email address when you create an account (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email).
- Receipts you scan become your purchase history — item names and prices are extracted and stored in your account to power history, buy-again suggestions, and budget tracking.
- Precise location is optional. If you allow it, we use it only while the App is open to detect which store you are in. Everything works without it.
- No ads. No tracking. No data sales. The App contains no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics SDKs, and we never sell your data.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, inside the App (Profile → Account → Delete Account).
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address and an internal account identifier, created when you sign up with Apple, Google, or email.
- Purchase history: item names, prices, store, and date extracted from receipts you choose to scan.
- Preferences you enter: dietary preferences, allergen alerts, avoid-list ingredients, store memberships, and monthly budget.
- Location (optional): your approximate position while the App is in use, only if you grant permission, used to identify the store you are shopping in.
- Scan results: the products you scan and the scores and prices returned, kept so your history and price comparisons work.
3. Camera Images
When you point the camera at a product, label, or receipt, image frames are transmitted over HTTPS to our servers, analyzed in memory to identify the product or extract text, and then discarded. We do not store your photos or camera frames. Only the derived results (for example, the product identified or the line items on a receipt) are kept.
4. How We Use Information
- Provide the App’s features: product identification, health scores, price comparison, deals, swaps, purchase history, and budgets.
- Improve price accuracy: prices observed in scans and receipts contribute to anonymous, aggregated store price data. This aggregate contains no account identifiers and cannot be traced back to you.
- Maintain security and prevent abuse.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
5. Service Providers
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the App, acting on our instructions:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, authentication, and data storage.
- Google (Gemini API) — analyzes camera images in memory to identify products and read labels and receipts. Images are processed to return a result and are not used to identify you.
- Google Maps Platform — converts your optional location into a nearby store name.
- Retailer APIs (for example Kroger) — look up product prices and store locations. Your identity is not shared with retailers.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Account data and purchase history are kept while your account is active.
- Anonymous price observations expire automatically within 180 days.
- Deleting your account inside the App (Profile → Account → Delete Account) permanently removes your account, purchase history, and preferences from our systems. You can also request deletion by emailing support@nusee.ai.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise all of these in the App, or by contacting support@nusee.ai. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
8. Children
NuSee is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
All traffic between the App and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS. Data is stored in access-controlled AWS services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
10. Not Medical Advice
Health scores and nutrition information in the App are general guidance to help you compare products. They are not medical advice. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical decisions.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
